![This great little ecolodge makes for a nice 3-4 day side trip if you are visiting Cusco and the Sacred Valley. Fly into Puerto Maldonado and from there it's a 45min boat ride down the Madre de Dios River (an Amazon River tributary).

Our cabana was quite comfy, especially so considering we were in the Amazon Jungle. A limited (and sketchy) power supply made charging batteries tricky, but it all worked out. Sun-warmed-water for showers also worked out given the high humidity and warm afternoons. The food was more than decent and the daily excursions were lots of fun. "True jungle experience. Brought in on long covered top boat, must walk on mud steps to get from boat to real steps. Cabins are rustic with screen windows. Bed covered in mosquito netting. Cold showers. Power on 6-9 pm, which was fine bc you go to sleep early. Meals were quite good. Our guide, Marcello, provided by the lodge, was excellent. He saw a myriad of bugs and animals we never would have spotted. Marcello very knowledgeable, made our trip. He took us out on a boat for piranha fishing and...

![This great little ecolodge makes for a nice 3-4 day side trip if you are visiting Cusco and the Sacred Valley. Fly into Puerto Maldonado and from there it's a 45min boat ride down the Madre de Dios River (an Amazon River tributary).

Our cabana was quite comfy, especially so considering we were in the Amazon Jungle. A limited (and sketchy) power supply made charging batteries tricky, but it all worked out. Sun-warmed-water for showers also worked out given the high humidity and warm afternoons. The food was more than decent and the daily excursions were lots of fun. "Posadas was a lovely jungle lodge. The staff were friendly and helpful with amazing service. Beautiful setting and Rainforest Expeditions made our transportation and excursions smooth and flawless. Food was fresh and delicious satisfying to the taste buds. The jungle sounds were wonderful to wake up to and helped to send you off to sleep. I highly recommend and would love to return sometime. A lot of wildlife just around the lodge."
